The efforts of RAWAT in terms of serving the community needs through economically empowering them with sustainable livelihoods have been documented by team of GRC-SK project as motivational stories to mobilize other vulnerable women to join the NGO programmes. Some of the success stories from the community are given below
Ms. Seema would never have thought it possible to break out of the cycle of poverty. Belonging to a suppressed and lower middle class family suffering from acute economical problems, Ms. Seema after getting learn about RAWAT GRC support from her neighbours, come to the GRC and took admission in Art & Craft Course. Today, she is a home-based entrepreneur making dolls, bouquets, flowerpots, gift items and toys.
Dabri, New Delhi
A story of struggle, grit and determination. This is the story of Ms. Neetu from the poorest sections of Southwest of Delhi. She had to discontinue her studies after 10th class as her family could not afford it though they wanted her to study further. She wanted to support her family financially. But in the absence of vocational training she was helpless. She met RAWAT worker during the community meeting in her locality and team changed all this. She enrolled for a Dress Making Course and after successful completing it. She has today a job and is earning sufficient money to contribute to her family. She has also continued with her studies.
Nasirpur, New Delhi
This is the story of a physically challenged and separate woman who took admission in Beauty Culture Course at GRC under Mission Convergence. She completed her vocational training successfully and also became the member of Self-Help Group. Today she is the proprietor of a Beauty Parlour in Dwarka. Now she is earning more than 30 thousand per month and she has employed 4 women in her Beauty Parlaur. Those who are earning more than 9 thousand monthly.
